1. About This Service

ProviderDownload.com ("we", "us", "our") provides API access and bulk downloads of the National Provider Identifier (NPI) dataset published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES).

The data we distribute is a public record. It is sourced directly from the U.S. federal government and made available under the Freedom of Information Act. ProviderDownload.com does not originate, verify, or certify any provider information — we repackage and distribute the official CMS dataset for developer convenience.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, obtaining an API key, or using any part of this service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3. API Keys and Accounts

• You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential.
• You may not share, resell, or sublicense your API key.
• One free-tier key per email address.
• We reserve the right to revoke keys that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use this service for lawful purposes only. You may not:

• Attempt to scrape, mirror, or redistribute the full dataset without a bulk download subscription.
• Use the service to build a competing NPI data distribution service.
• Circumvent rate limits or access controls.
• Use provider data to spam, harass, or target individuals.

5. Data Accuracy and Warranty Disclaimer

The NPI data is provided "as-is" from CMS and updated monthly. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any data returned by this service. Do not rely solely on this data for clinical, credentialing, or compliance decisions — always verify against the official CMS NPPES registry at npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov.

6. Rate Limits and Plan Quotas

Usage is subject to the request limits of your plan. Exceeding your monthly quota will result in HTTP 429 responses until the next billing period. We reserve the right to adjust plan limits with reasonable notice.

7. Payment and Cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial months.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ProviderDownload.com shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this service or reliance on any data it provides.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
